Komorebi (木漏れ日) means “sunlight filtering through leaves” in Japanese. It’s the feeling of dappled light in a quiet forest — calm, gentle, and beautiful.

This app was born from a simple frustration: every note-taking app wants to be everything. They want your data in their cloud, your attention on their features, your money every month.

Komorebi is different. It’s a simple tool that does one thing well: it lets you write and organize your thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less.

Philosophy

• Your data, your device. Notes are stored as plain Markdown files on your computer. You can read them with any text editor, move them anywhere, back them up however you like.
• No distractions. No notifications, no social features, no AI assistants. Just a clean writing surface.
